Community Response Unit (CRU)

The Community Response Unit (CRU) was established to address issues directly impacting our neighborhoods. By building strong, grassroots partnerships, CRU works to improve quality of life and foster trust between law enforcement and the community.

CRU operates through three key branches: Crime Prevention, Community Policing, and Special Enforcement Teams (CRUSET).

• Crime Prevention focuses on educating and empowering residents through programs, partnerships, and initiatives designed to reduce crime and enhance community safety.

• Community Policing builds neighborhood safety teams that provide hands-on support and maintain open communication with homeowners’ associations, ensuring that residents have a direct voice in local safety efforts.

• Special Enforcement Teams (CRUSET) support patrol districts and high-crime areas by addressing issues with career criminals, identifying persons of interest, and confronting challenges head-on to keep communities safe.

Through these efforts, CRU strengthens community ties, fosters trust, and ensures a safer, more resilient neighborhood for all.
